1. Who we are
La Cura Music operates a split sheet management platform (musical copyright agreements) for independent artists, producers, and songwriters across Latin America. Split sheets document each collaborator’s percentage share in a song.

2. Data we collect
When creating or accessing your artist account:
- Phone number (WhatsApp) — used for identity verification via OTP code and to receive signing-process notifications.
- Full legal name (first name, middle name, first surname, second surname).
- Stage name (optional).
- Email address (optional).
When signing a split sheet:
- Legal name confirmed at the time of signing.
- IPI number (Interested Parties Information) — rights society registration identifier.
- Performing rights organization (PRO) affiliation: ASCAP, BMI, SGAE, SAYCO, SACVEN, or others.
- Publisher name and IPI number, if applicable.
- Agreed participation percentage.
- Exact date and time of signing (UTC).
- IP address from which the document was signed — part of the legal audit trail.
Through WhatsApp (Meta API):
- Recipient phone number — to send signing invitations or signing confirmations.
- Message delivery status (sent, delivered, read) — to know whether the collaborator received the notification.
- Sent message content is defined in Meta pre-approved templates. We do not store conversations or inbound messages.
Access OTP codes:
One-time verification codes sent via WhatsApp are automatically deleted when used or when they expire (10 minutes). They are not stored permanently.
3. How we use your data
- Identity verification: your phone number is used solely to send you an OTP code that confirms access to the dashboard.
- Signing process: legal data (name, IPI, PRO) is included in the split sheet document as a contractual record of your participation.
- Process notifications: we send WhatsApp messages only to (a) invite you to sign a split sheet and (b) confirm when a co-writer has signed. We do not send marketing messages.
- Legal audit: the IP, timestamp, and electronic signature associated with each signing are retained as proof of consent.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: signing data is necessary for the split sheet to have legal validity between the parties.
- Legitimate interest: recording IP and timestamp for electronic signature auditing.
- Consent: use of your phone number for WhatsApp notifications, granted when you agree to participate in the signing process.
5. Sharing data with third parties
- Meta / WhatsApp: phone numbers are transmitted to Meta solely to send messages through the official WhatsApp Business API. Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy .
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third party for commercial or advertising purposes.
6. Data retention
- Signing data (legal name, IPI, PRO, IP, timestamp) is retained indefinitely as part of the split sheet’s contractual record.
- WhatsApp message delivery status is retained while the split sheet is active.
- Account data (stage name, phone) is retained while the account is active.
- OTP codes expire in 10 minutes and are not stored beyond that period.
7. Your rights
You may exercise the following rights by writing to [email protected] :
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate data in your profile.
- Erasure: request deletion of your account. Contact data (stage name, phone) will be deleted. Signing data (legal name, IPI, percentage, timestamp, IP) will be retained in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of the contractual document.
- Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. OTP codes are not stored in plain text. Dashboard access is protected with implicit two-factor authentication (OTP via WhatsApp). Data is hosted on servers with restricted access.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the platform or applicable regulations. The last updated date appears in the header of this document. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of those changes.
